Meet Amelia McMartin — Your Local Highland Dance
Instructor!
Amelia is a passionate and accomplished 16-year-old Premier
Highland dancer from Maitland. Amelia recently joined
Broadway Dance Academy, training with Sarah Burtch in ballet
and contemporary dance. While Amelia only joined BDA last
year, she has been highland dancing since the age of 3! Amelia
began her training with Ellen Cameron Highland Dancers in St.
Andrews. She continues to hone her Highland dance skills
under the guidance of Ellen Cameron Maloney and Caroline
Taylor. With over 12 years of experience and a strong
competitive background, she has proudly competed across
Eastern Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes — including the
ScotDance Canada Championship Series (SDCCS).
Amelia received the highest level, Distinction, on her level 5
examinations from the British Association of Teachers of
Dancing (BATD). Over the past several years, Amelia has also
gained experience as an assistant teacher at Ellen Cameron
Highland Dancers, helping young dancers with warmups and
technique. At competitions, Amelia helps younger dancers with
competition preparation and practicing for dances.
Amelia’s dream? To share her love of Highland dance with the
community and help inspire the next generation of dancers.
